Micromax unveiled a new phablet in its home-turf of India, FoneArena is reporting. The Micromax Canvas Gold A300 comes in White with Gold color, and rock-solid specs that include a 5.5-inch full HD IPS screen, MediaTek’s MT6592T octa-core chip clocked at 2GHz, 2GB of RAM, and 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flesh that is coupled with a 5-megapixel front shooter. In addition, we get 3G connectivity support (HSPA+), dual-SIM capability and a 2,300 mAh battery, while Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show.
Micromax’s device is currently available from online retailer Infibeam, which is asking Rs. 23,999 (about $400) for the unlocked unit. It is expected to ship in 5 to 6 days. No word whether the Canvas Gold A300 will ever hit other markets outside of India, though.
