Alcatel has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Idol X+ smartphone. According to the company’s Facebook page, the new software is pushed out to all existing users of the phone running Jelly Bean.
Alcatel hasn’t mentioned any details about its own software tweaks, so we’re guessing they haven’t added that much. This, many would argue, is a plus. Long gone are the days when Android needed the custom skin to be easy to use; these days, default Android UI is the best solution for most users.
Anyway, when your Idol X+ informs you about the update, make sure to add extra juice to your phone to have enough power to complete the process. It would also be preferable to be connected to a fast Wi-Fi hotspot to make for a faster (firmware) download.
