Luxury phone studio Goldgenie is doing it again. After the luxury version of the iPhone 5S (and BlackBerry Q10 for that matter), they have started taking pre-orders for the gold variant of the upcoming iPhone 6. Yes, even though Apple has yet to announce the next iPhone, the company is already taking money from those willing to own the gold Jesusphone.
Initially, they’re focused on the 4.7-inch model though we’re sure the offering will be expanded to include the 5.5-inch iPhone, as well.
At the moment, the gold iPhone 6 is sold at the iPhone 5s price and includes a lifetime warranty on both customization and the device. Prices start at £2,197.50 (about $3,600) for clients who place a 50% deposit prior to launch.
Aside from “regular” gold, platinum and rose gold versions, Goldgenie also has a limited Gulf Collection, with laser-engraved emblems of the seven Gulf States. These are obviously catered towards oil barons from the UAE; and we would expect similarly expensive models made for Russian oligarchs. These are usually the kind of folks buying these sort of phones, anyway.
