Vertu is apparently preparing to launch another expensive smartphone later this year. After the sexy Signature Touch, the luxury phone maker will release the Vertu Aster, if we can take its certification details as some sort of proof.
Said device has cleared both the FCC and China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA), so we know where the company is looking to find its buyers. Moreover, they’ll undoubtedly offer this phone in the Middle East and Russia where oil barons and oligarchs (respectively) are ever hungry for gold-plated gadgetry.
Specs wise, the Aster comes with a 4.7-inch full HD screen (1920 x 1080 pixels), 2.3GHz Snapdragon chip, 13-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 2GB of RAM, NFC, LTE connectivity support and 64GB of internal memory. Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show with Vertu’s own UI singing on top… to, you know, remind you how rich you are.
Similarly to the Signature Touch — and pretty much any other Vertu phone — this unit is also made using premium materials such as titanium alloy and leather; though we may see few even more exclusive variants, featuring the good ol’ gold and “stuff like that.”
It’s unclear when exactly Vertu will launch this baby and we could only assume they’ll be doing that in the next few weeks to take advantage of the Christmas shopping craze. That being said, we may talk about this phone one more time… or not. It’s not like we can buy one, anyway.
