Facebook’s WhatsApp deal has been approved to the tune of $19 billion U.S. dollars. The deal was approved by the European Union late last week, and was quickly finalized over the weekend. WhatsApp’s co-founder and CEO Jan Koum will take his place in Facebook’s Board of Directors.
This deal has been in the works since earlier this year. Now that the deal has passed through the scrutinizing eyes of regulators, Facebook is ready to pump ads and glean user data from WhatsApp. Yippee!
