Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Buds4 Pro receive stability-focused software updates

Samsung has rolled out new software updates for its Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 Pro wireless earphones, focusing primarily on stability improvements and enhanced device behavior. The updates come as part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to refine the performance of its premium audio accessories.

The timing of these updates is significant as Samsung continues to compete in the increasingly crowded premium earbuds market, where software stability can make or break the user experience. Both models represent Samsung’s latest attempts to challenge Apple’s AirPods dominance with advanced features and improved audio quality.

For the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, Samsung released firmware version R630XXU0AZD2, which requires an 8MB download and brings stability-focused improvements to the earphones. The update is currently rolling out in South Korea, suggesting Samsung is taking a regional approach to the deployment.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro receives firmware version R640XXU0AZD2, weighing slightly more at 8.5MB. This update also centers on stability improvements, with Samsung noting that the device’s overall behavior has been enhanced. The Buds4 Pro update is being distributed across the US and Europe, indicating a broader initial rollout for this model.

The regional differences in update distribution reflect Samsung’s typical strategy of testing updates in select markets before expanding globally. This approach helps identify potential issues before wider deployment, though it can frustrate users waiting for updates in unsupported regions.

Users who haven’t received the automatic update can manually check for it through the Galaxy Wearable app. The process involves:

  • Opening the Galaxy Wearable app
  • Navigating to Earbuds settings
  • Selecting Earbuds software update
  • Tapping Download and install

These stability updates come at a crucial time for Samsung’s audio division, as the company works to address user feedback and maintain competitiveness against rivals like Apple, Sony, and emerging players in the premium earbuds space. While the updates may seem minor, stability improvements often address connectivity issues, battery performance, and audio quality problems that can significantly impact daily use.

The focus on stability rather than new features suggests Samsung is prioritizing user experience refinement over flashy additions. This approach often proves more valuable for users who rely on their earbuds for daily activities like calls, music, and productivity tasks.
