Honor 600e quietly launches with Dimensity 7100 chip and massive 6,520 mAh battery

Honor has quietly expanded its 600 smartphone series with the launch of the Honor 600e, a device that bridges the gap between budget and premium offerings. The company listed the device on its official Peru website without fanfare, following the earlier releases of the Honor 600 and 600 Pro models.

This soft launch strategy reflects Honor’s approach to testing new markets with variants that offer different price points and specifications. The 600e appears designed for users who want premium display quality and exceptional battery life without paying flagship prices.

The Honor 600e runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Currently, this is the only configuration available, though Honor will likely offer additional memory options when the device reaches global markets. The Dimensity 7100 positions the phone firmly in the mid-range category while still providing solid performance for daily tasks and gaming.

The standout feature is the 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 x 2600 pixel resolution. Honor promises impressive brightness levels:

  • Peak brightness of 6,500 nits
  • Up to 2,000 nits in high-brightness mode
  • 3840Hz PWM support for reduced eye strain

This display technology mirrors what Honor uses in its more expensive 600 and 600 Pro models, making it slightly larger than those devices. The high PWM frequency addresses concerns about OLED flicker that can cause eye strain for sensitive users.

Photography capabilities center around a dual-camera setup on the rear. The main camera uses a 108MP sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, while a secondary 5MP ultrawide camera has an f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera offers 16MP resolution with an f/2.45 aperture for selfies and video calls.

The massive 6,520 mAh battery represents one of the phone’s key selling points in an era where users demand all-day battery life. Honor supports this with 45W fast wired charging and includes 6W reverse wired charging for powering accessories or helping friends with dead phones.

Software comes in the form of Android 16-based MagicOS 10, giving users access to the latest Android features alongside Honor’s customizations. The device includes practical features like IP66 water and dust resistance and an additional hardware button similar to its siblings.

Honor offers three color options: Velvet Gray, Desert Gold, and Vital Green. The single 8GB/512GB configuration is priced at PEN 1,999 (approximately €505) and comes with promotional freebies, though specific details weren’t provided.

The Honor 600e’s launch reflects broader trends in the smartphone market where manufacturers are creating multiple variants of popular models to capture different price segments. By offering flagship-level display technology and exceptional battery life at a mid-range price point, Honor is positioning the 600e to compete with devices from Xiaomi, Realme, and other brands targeting value-conscious consumers who don’t want to compromise on key features.

The quiet launch in Peru suggests Honor is using the market as a testing ground before a wider global rollout, a strategy that allows companies to refine pricing and positioning based on initial market response.
