Realme P4R 5G promises dual-chip setup under Rs 30,000

Realme is preparing to expand its popular P Series with the P4R 5G, which has been officially teased in India. The device already has a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, generating significant buzz in the mid-range smartphone segment.

The P4R 5G represents Realme’s attempt to differentiate itself in the crowded sub-Rs 30,000 market through a unique dual-chip architecture. This approach could reshape how manufacturers approach performance optimization in mid-range devices, particularly for gaming and multimedia consumption.

The standout feature is Realme’s claim that the P4R 5G will be the first smartphone under Rs 30,000 to feature dual-chip architecture. The setup combines a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset with a dedicated Hyper Vision+ AI chip specifically designed for graphics and visual processing.

This configuration differs from typical mid-range phones that rely on a single chip to handle all processing tasks. The P4R splits the workload – the Dimensity 7400 manages general computing while the Hyper Vision+ AI chip focuses on rendering, frame rates, and AI-based visual upscaling. For gamers and heavy users, this could translate to smoother performance and better visual quality.

Based on leaks and the Flipkart microsite, here are the confirmed specifications:

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7400 + Hyper Vision+ AI Chip
  • RAM/Storage: Up to 6GB RAM / 256GB Storage
  • Color Options: Silver Glare, Titanium Glare, Lavender Glare
  • Launch Platform: Flipkart
  • Expected Price: Under Rs 30,000
  • Launch Window: Early June 2026

Realme hasn’t confirmed display size, battery capacity, or camera specifications yet. These details are expected closer to the official launch date.

The P Series has consistently focused on battery endurance as its core selling point. The P4R continues this philosophy with the tagline “The R evolution is coming,” suggesting significant improvements over previous models. This approach targets young users who spend extensive time on social media, gaming, and multimedia consumption without wanting to carry power banks.

The standard Realme P4 5G features a 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, while the P4 Power 5G extends this to a 10,001mAh cell. The P4R sits within this family as a more premium offering that emphasizes the dual-chip performance advantage.

The P4R appears positioned between the standard P4 and the Power variant in terms of target audience. It aims for users who want better performance than the basic P4 but don’t necessarily need the extreme battery capacity of the P4 Power. This positioning could help Realme capture users willing to pay slightly more for enhanced gaming and visual performance.

For buyers considering a Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 purchase, waiting for the P4R makes sense. The dual-chip setup represents genuinely new territory in India’s mid-range market. While real-world performance benefits remain to be tested, the concept has enough potential to justify waiting for comprehensive reviews.

The P4R launch is expected in the first week of June 2026. The success of this dual-chip approach could influence how other manufacturers design mid-range smartphones, potentially starting a new trend in performance optimization for budget-conscious users.
