Samsung is getting ready to drop another mid-range phone in India, and this time it’s packing a few surprises. The Galaxy M47 is set to go official on June 29, 2026, and will be sold exclusively through Amazon India. Samsung has now revealed the full spec sheet ahead of launch, leaving only the price unknown.
The M series has always been Samsung’s answer to budget-conscious buyers who still want decent hardware. The M47 continues that approach, but the software support promise here is genuinely notable. Six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates is a commitment that most Android makers still won’t match at this price level, and it signals that Samsung is serious about keeping the M series competitive long-term.
The phone’s Amazon listing lays out most of what buyers need to know. Here’s what the Galaxy M47 is bringing to the table:
- 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate
- Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ with “4x scratch resistance” and “2.0m fall endurance”
- Dust and water resistance
- Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (expected to be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3)
- LPDDR5X RAM paired with UFS 3.1 storage
- Triple rear cameras: 50MP wide with OIS, 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro
- 12MP front camera
- Large battery with 45W charging and Bypass Charging support
- One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 QPR2 out of the box
- Two color options: Rogue Red and Blaze Blue
The Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection is worth calling out specifically. At this price segment, that kind of drop and scratch resistance usually requires a premium upcharge, so including it here adds real-world value for buyers who are rough on their phones.
The camera setup is fairly standard for this tier, a large primary sensor with OIS is the headline, while the ultra-wide and macro lenses fill out the array without adding much weight to the overall package. The 45W charging speed is solid too, though Samsung hasn’t confirmed the actual battery size yet.
One UI 8.5 ships pre-installed, which means buyers get Android 16 features from day one rather than waiting for an update. Combined with that six-year software window, the M47 is shaping up to be a strong long-term buy if the price lands right. That’s the last piece of information Samsung is holding back, and it will likely make or break the phone’s chances in India’s competitive mid-range market.
