Samsung has not said when its summer Unpacked event will happen, but that hasn’t stopped the leaks from piling up. The latest one goes straight to the details that shoppers actually care about: colors and storage options for every foldable Samsung plans to release this year.
According to SamMobile, the three devices in question are the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That last one is the direct successor to this year’s Fold 7, while the plain “Fold 8” name will go to a wider foldable model that was previously referred to as the Fold 8 Wide. Yes, the naming is a bit confusing.
Color choices matter more in the foldable market than most people realize. Samsung’s flip and fold phones sit at the premium end of the price spectrum, and buyers expect a range of options that feel personal. A wider color palette also gives Samsung room to offer exclusive shades through its online store, which has become a reliable way to drive direct sales.
Here is what the leak says for each device:
Galaxy Z Flip 8 (model number SM-F971)
- Cream
- Graphite
- Mint
- Pink
Storage options: 256GB and 512GB.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (model number SM-F976)
- Cream
- Graphite
- Green Shadow
- Violet Shadow
Storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 (model number SM-F978)
- Cream
- Graphite
- Lavender
- Pistachio
Storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
A few things stand out here. The Fold 8 Ultra leans into muted, sophisticated tones with names like Green Shadow and Violet Shadow, which fits the premium positioning you would expect from an Ultra-branded device. The Fold 8 wide model goes a bit bolder with Lavender and Pistachio, which could appeal to buyers who want something more expressive. The Flip 8 keeps things accessible with Mint and Pink alongside the safer Cream and Graphite options.
It’s worth noting that Samsung has a history of offering certain colors exclusively through its website. The leak does not specify which shades, if any, will be online-only, so the full retail picture is still incomplete. Based on how Samsung handled the 2025 lineup, at least one or two colors per device are likely to be web exclusives.
Samsung is expected to show all three phones at Unpacked sometime later this summer. Pricing and availability details have not been confirmed yet, though a separate leak has already suggested the Fold 8 series will cost more than its predecessors.
