Vivo has launched the T5e in India at Rs 13,999, targeting students, daily commuters, and anyone who prioritizes reliability over flash.
The star of the show is a 5,500mAh battery with 15W charging and reverse charging support. Vivo claims up to 18 hours of online video playback, 13.5 hours of social media use, and 28 hours of voice calls. Those numbers are obviously best-case scenarios, but even if real-world use cuts them in half, that’s still a solid battery. At this price point, that kind of stamina matters a lot more than an extra camera lens nobody asked for.
The T5e also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, military-grade durability, and a reinforced cushioning structure to handle drops. It also supports wet-hand and greasy-hand touch, which sounds like a small thing until you’re trying to use your phone while cooking or in the rain. These features are genuinely practical, and they give the T5e a toughness angle that a lot of phones at this price skip entirely.
On the front is a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s not a 120Hz AMOLED, and it won’t blow you away, but 90Hz feels smooth enough for scrolling and video. If you want smoother visuals, that phone has an edge. But the T5e beats it on battery size and durability. So the choice really comes down to what you value more.

The T5e is a focused phone. It knows what it is and doesn’t pretend otherwise. If a long-lasting, tough budget phone is what you need, this one delivers. Just don’t expect it to multitask like a champ or shoot stunning photos.
