Poco X8 Power launched with a 10,000mAh battery that means serious business

Ten thousand milliamp hours. That’s not a typo. Poco just dropped the X8 Power in India, and the headline spec is a battery so large it makes most flagships look like they have a anxiety problem. If you’re the kind of person who ends the day at 12% and panic-charges before bed, this phone was built with you in mind.

As reported by Gizmochina, the X8 Power is the more aggressive of two new additions to Poco’s X8 lineup in India. And while the battery grabs all the attention, the rest of the specs aren’t here just to fill a box.

What’s inside

The X8 Power runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, which is a solid mid-range chip for this price point. RAM goes up to 12GB of LPDDR5X, which is fast memory you’d normally expect in a more expensive phone. So no, this isn’t a one-trick pony that skimped on everything else to fit a giant battery.

Software-wise, it ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 built on Android 16. Poco is also promising four OS upgrades and six years of security patches. That’s meaningful. Most people keep phones for two or three years, and knowing your device won’t be abandoned matters more than any single spec on a sheet.

Built like it can take a hit

The X8 Power has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. That’s not just waterproofing, that’s serious dust and high-pressure water resistance across multiple standards. You could use this thing in a rainstorm, near a pool, or in genuinely rough conditions and it would probably be fine. For a phone in this price range, that level of protection is rare and worth calling out.

Pricing and when you can buy it

The X8 Power is priced at Rs 35,999. But Poco is stacking offers at launch, and here’s the breakdown:

  • Rs 2,000 coupon discount available at checkout
  • Rs 1,000 bank offer or exchange bonus on top of that
  • Effective price drops to Rs 32,999 with both applied
  • 12-month no-cost EMI option starting at Rs 2,750 per month

It goes on sale September 11, 2026, at noon exclusively on Flipkart. The standard Poco X8 starts a little lower and comes with similar EMI options if the Power’s price is a stretch.

Why this phone matters

Battery anxiety is real, and most phone makers respond to it by adding a slightly bigger cell every year and calling it innovation. Poco skipped that incremental approach entirely and put in a 10,000mAh unit. That’s a statement. And pairing it with a capable chip, fast RAM, multi-standard water resistance, and years of software support makes it an actual package rather than just a marketing stunt. For buyers in India who want endurance without paying flagship prices, the X8 Power is hard to ignore.
