Foldables have had a reputation problem. Creaky hinges, fragile screens, software that never quite fits the form. Apple watched all of that and took its time. Now the iPhone Duo is here, and based on what Apple is promising, it might be the foldable that finally gets it right.
A display setup that actually makes sense
Apple announced the iPhone Duo with a 7.6-inch inner display, 50 percent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Closed, the 5.4-inch outer screen covers 90 percent of the area of an iPhone 18 Pro, so you’re not giving much up when you keep it folded. Both displays share the same aspect ratio, which means content scales properly instead of looking stretched or chopped. They also get ProMotion, Always On, and 3000 nits peak brightness. A nano-texture finish on the inner display cuts glare and hides the crease better than most foldables manage.
Built different, literally
The frame is grade 5 titanium with a mirror polish. Ceramic Shield 2 on the front has 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation. The hinge is made from over 100 components, and internal support ribs keep the whole thing stiff. IP68 water resistance is here too. Apple Pencil support is also coming later this year.
