Samsung announced the SmartTag3 on September 30, 2026, and it’s a real step forward from the previous generation. The new tracker is about 35% smaller by volume and 33% lighter, which means it actually makes sense on a pet collar or a small keychain without feeling like dead weight. The design gets an aluminum-decorated button and a rounded finish that looks more polished than what we’ve seen before. You get actual directional help from far away, then pinpoint accuracy as you close in. And with over 900 million Galaxy devices in the Find Network, the coverage when a tag goes out of Bluetooth range is genuinely impressive.
New proactive features round out the package nicely. Place Notification lets you set a zone and get alerted when a tagged item moves in or out of it. Useful for pets, bikes, or anything else that shouldn’t be moving without your knowledge. Location History lets you see where your tag has been, and Movement Detection Alert notifies you when something starts moving unexpectedly.
