Samsung didn’t waste much time. Just days after dropping the stable One UI 9.0 update in South Korea, the company has started pushing Android 17 to Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in the United States. And yes, this is the full stable release, not a beta.
According to SamMobile, the rollout is currently live for carrier-locked variants of the S25 series. The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s update comes in at a hefty 3,867.15MB and carries firmware version S938USQUCDZIF. The other two models should be similar in size, with firmware versions also ending in DZIF. So if you’re on a carrier-locked unit and haven’t checked for updates yet, now is the time.
This matters because One UI 9.0 isn’t just a number bump. The update brings real changes that actually affect how you use the phone day to day. Samsung has expanded customization options for the Quick Panel, which has honestly needed a refresh for a while. Samsung DeX gets meaningful upgrades too, making it a more capable desktop experience for people who actually use it. Samsung Notes also gets improvements, and there are new accessibility enhancements across the board.
The bigger picture here is Samsung’s continued push to stay competitive on the software side. Google has been aggressive with Pixel software updates, and Apple’s iOS releases always create noise. Samsung responding quickly with a wide rollout of One UI 9.0 shows the company is serious about not letting its Galaxy flagships sit on outdated software. Speed matters to consumers, and Samsung knows it.
It’s also worth watching how fast this reaches unlocked variants and other regions. South Korea first, then the US within a week. That’s a solid pace. Expect more countries to follow quickly. If you’ve been sitting on a Galaxy S25 and wondering whether Samsung actually supports its phones well, this rollout is a reasonable answer to that question. So keep checking your settings. The update is out there, and it’s a good one.
