An 8,000mAh battery in a mid-range phone used to sound like a fever dream. Now OPPO is shipping two of them at once. The F35 5G and F35 Pro 5G have officially launched in India, and the battery headline is just the start. These two phones are aimed squarely at buyers who want serious endurance without crossing into flagship territory on price.
The standard F35 5G: solid foundation, no surprises
The base F35 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It ships with ColorOS 16 out of the box. On the camera side, you get a 50MP main shooter alongside a 2MP monochrome lens. Not the most exciting camera setup, and that 2MP depth sensor is a bit of a filler pick, but the main lens does the heavy lifting for most people anyway.
The rest of the package is competent. There’s an under-screen fingerprint sensor, face unlock, dual SIM support, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 5, and up to 8GB of virtual RAM. OPPO also included reverse wired charging and dual-link network acceleration, which is a nice touch at this price point.
The F35 Pro 5G is where things get interesting
Step up to the Pro and the spec sheet gets a lot more compelling. The camera jumps to a main sensor with OIS plus an 8MP ultra-wide, and the phone supports dual-view video recording. But honestly, the bigger story here is the protection. The F35 Pro 5G carries IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings. That’s not one rating, that’s four. OPPO also added Rainstorm touch support and one-touch water ejection, which means the phone can actually function while wet. For a mid-ranger, that’s genuinely impressive.
The Pro also has a 5,000mm² vapour chamber for thermals, Wi-Fi 6, Hunter Antenna architecture, and Smart Communication 3.0. It weighs around 210g and measures 16.26 x 7.76 x 0.84cm, so it’s not a small phone, but that tracks given the battery inside. OPPO calls the build a 360-degree Armour body, which is marketing speak, but the IP ratings back it up.

Why this launch actually matters
The Indian mid-range market is brutal. Every brand is fighting for the same buyers, and battery life has become one of the clearest differentiators. OPPO pushing 8,000mAh into two phones at sub-Rs 55,000 puts real pressure on competitors sitting at 5,000mAh or 6,000mAh. And the Pro’s water resistance ratings at this price range are legitimately rare. So while neither phone is going to wow anyone on pure camera specs, they make a strong case on the stuff that actually affects daily use. That’s a smart play.
