Two 200-megapixel cameras. A widescreen display. And it might not even have a confirmed name yet. Oppo’s next mystery phone is already one of the more interesting leaks of the year, and we barely know anything about it.
According to Gizmochina, reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has spilled some early specs on an Oppo device currently in engineering prototype phase. The phone is described as a widescreen candybar, which immediately sets it apart from everything else in the existing Find X10 lineup. That lineup already includes the Find X10E, Find X10, and Find X10 Pro Max, so where exactly this one fits is still a bit of a puzzle.
The widescreen form factor is worth paying attention to because it’s becoming a real trend. Huawei kicked things off with the Pura View X, a proper flagship with a wide aspect ratio display. But now Coolpad is prepping a widescreen phone at around $150, and Honor is also reportedly working on one. Oppo jumping in here isn’t a surprise. It’s a sign that widescreen phones are about to go from niche curiosity to actual product category, fast.
On the hardware side, the prototype is running a MediaTek flagship chip. Right now, that almost certainly means the Dimensity 9600 Pro, the same chip inside the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max. So performance should be top tier. The bigger story is the camera setup.
- Dual 200-megapixel cameras
- One of them is a periscope telephoto
- MediaTek flagship chip (likely Dimensity 9600 Pro)
- Widescreen candybar display
Two 200MP sensors on one phone is aggressive. Most flagships are still playing the multi-sensor game with one high-res main shooter and lower-res supporting cameras. Pairing that with a periscope zoom lens suggests Oppo is serious about making this a photography powerhouse, not just a novelty form factor phone. That’s the right call. A wide display alone isn’t enough to justify a flagship price tag.
Digital Chat Station thinks this could be positioned as a Pro model, which would make the Find X10 Pro name a natural fit. But here’s the thing, the form factor is different enough from the rest of the X10 family that calling it a Pro feels a little odd. Some reports are floating the name Find X10 Pro Mini, which is admittedly a weird combo of words, but it at least signals what kind of device this is. Nothing is confirmed yet.
As for when you’ll actually be able to buy one, previous reports suggest it could launch alongside the Oppo Find N7 foldable, which is expected to arrive in China sometime in Q1 2027. So there’s still a wait ahead. Battery size and charging speed haven’t leaked yet either, which are obviously important details for a phone this ambitious.
Still, the early picture is compelling. If Oppo can deliver a widescreen phone with genuinely great dual 200MP cameras and flagship performance, it won’t just be an interesting experiment. It’ll be a phone people actually want to buy.
