Time Out New York (TONY) is teaming up with junaio to include its channel in the popular augmented reality app. The company will bring its “Summer Drinking Special” guide to the junaio users (Android and iPhone 3GS) allowing them to discover cool drinking destinations in the New York City. We shouldn’t promote the use of alcohol, but I love the idea and am looking forward to see it being rolled out worldwide.
You know the drill, right? Simply start he junaio app, select “TONY Summer Drinking” channel and start pointing your phone around to find nearby places to get some booze. Make sure to hold the device tight after checking out few places though — you don’t want to search for your beloved smartphone in a sewage system because of TONY. 🙂
Anyway, in addition to basic bar information, the TONY channel also rocks information on deals and incentives, venue photos, contact numbers, directions, neighborhood maps, as well as a web link to the actual Time Out New York summer drinking page.
