CVS Caremark is out with the Caremark.com iPhone application. Available as a free download, the app provides iPhone users with the access to the Drug Information Database to learn more about various prescription drugs. Moreover, CVS Caremark plan members can log-in and securely manage their prescriptions online.
Users can research particular prescription medications, get information about how to take them, learn about available generic drug alternatives, see an image of the drug, learn about side effects and precautions, and much more.
CVS Caremark PBM members can do even more like refill a prescription, check prescription order status, view prescription history, FastStart (request a new prescription from their iPhone), check drug cost and find a nearby network pharmacy (either by zip code/address or by using GPS).
Again, this is one of those apps we hope you don’t need. However, if you are in Caremark’s targeted group, it’s convenient to have all those information at your fingertips. And what better way to do so, then via a dedicated mobile app?
