Android App for GetGlue Check-Ins Now Available

GetGlue’s check-in app for just about everything has made the jump from iPhone to Android, letting folks share on Twitter and Facebook what books they’re reading, what games they’re playing, what movies and TV shows their watching, what music they’re listening to, what wine they’re drinking, or even which celebrity or general topic is on their mind. GetGlue is a social network in and of itself too, letting you meet new people who share your interests. While checking in you can rate those interests, as well as comments made by others.

If you don’t have an iPhone or Android device, GetGlue is also launching a mobile site, which should tide over anyone waiting for a BlackBerry version. There’s also a smattering of new sticker rewards you can earn for checking in to Scott Pilgrim versus the World, Diggnation, HBO shows, and a bunch more.

I’ve been using GetGlue for awhile on my iPod Touch, primarily for sharing what games I play. Things can get tricky if your Twitter feed is pumped through to Facebook (potentially doubling up on GetGlue check-ins if you share to both), but I tend to do just Facebook, since it includes stuff like album covers in links that would just be boring ol’ text on Twitter. As you can tell, GetGlue is pretty all-inclusive, and is a great natural extension of location-based check-in apps like Foursquare, Gowalla, Yelp, and others. I’m curious if GetGlue will start incorporating location into their service too, or if they’re going to leave that to the already-entrenched players…
