GetJar to power-up Virgin Mobile India's mobile app store

GetJar, which touts itself as the “world’s largest cross-platform mobile applications store” and “world’s largest independent application store,” announced a new client – Virgin Mobile India. The Richard Branson’s group-owned MVNO will provide its users with access to GetJar’s extensive catalog of more than 70,000 mobile games and apps, ranging from games, education, social networking, entertainment, finance, food, health, search, lifestyle and several other utility applications.

Virgin Mobile subscribers can visit m.virginin.getjar.com to access the app catalog and download all applications free of cost — only the data browsing charges of 1p/kb will be charged on access.

The new mobile store is available across 16 circles — including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, Kerala, Orissa, Mumbai & Maharashtra, Kolkata & West Bengal, Haryana, Bihar, MP&CG, Punjab, UP (E) and UP (W).

For the record, GetJar used its App Catalogue Express white-label solution, which is also in function with other mobile operators and handset makers around the world.
