So you’ve been waiting for the Nokia N8 and things are getting a little more tense since we announced that it was shipping September 30. Fret not, as the date hasn’t changed, but now the touchscreen Symbian^3 handset has been priced at $549. The price is a little steep, yes, and with no word on whether it will definitely be subsidized at any U.S. carriers, it’s questionable whether the N8 – like most decent Nokia handsets – will see any success in the States.
The N8 features a 3.5-inch 640 x 360 AMOLED display, which is relatively sharp for a screen that size. It also has a 12MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, so there is a chance that could be a decent replacement for your point-and-shoot as Nokia camera phones of the past have taken stunning pictures. The N8 also comes with 16GB of internal memory, which should be plenty of room for apps, pictures and other media.
