Real World Tests: Why Apple reviewers can’t recommend the Consumers Report app

It’s official. Apple reviewers have evaluated the latest version of the Consumer Reports app and have confirmed that there is a problem with the app’s performance. The latest version of this app crashes when click on a review, crashes when you click on Electronics, and crashes when you look at it funny.

Reviewers have reached this conclusion following extensive testing and commenting within Apple’s app store. While earlier versions of the app performed as expected, this latest version exhibited significant problems with crashing. The crashing is, at times, profound enough to cause you to throw your handset down in disgust, shattering the screen.

These findings call into question the claim that the Consumer Reports app will get you access to the trusted blogs written by their experts. Though the app will launch and show a portion of this expert content, it inevitably crashes which makes the app almost useless. In this case, the use of a free Apple-provided bumper case did not help. The reviewers did, however, find a not-so convenient solution for suffering Consumer Reports app users: cut your loss and uninstall the app from your phone.

This constant crashing is the reason reviewers can not label the Consumer Report app as a “recommended” app, Even though its feature set is impressive, the constant crashing diminishes the app’s utility. Consumer Reports needs to comes up with a permanent-and free-fix for this problematic application before Apple reviewers can recommend it.

Please Note: this is written as a parody of Consumer Reports’ controversial decision to not recommend the iPhone 4 over its antenna problems. It is meant to point out the embracing condition of the Consumer Reports iPhone app which crashes constantly following a recent update. You would think that the king of product testing and review would be able to get their own app right and not let it stay in shambles.
