BlackBerry Internet Service 3.2 Coming October 2 with Google Calendar Sync?

The feature list for BlackBerry Internet Service 3.2 had leaked earlier over the summer, revealing some pretty solid new features, like two-way Google Calendar Sync, security and user interface improvements, and carrier-initiated BlackBerry Protect actions. For those itching for all of the above, recent rumour has it that the roll-out for BIS 3.2 will begin October 2.

With Google Calendar sync built right into BlackBerry Internet Service, there will be no reason to keep Google’s app around, unless of course they intend test out future BIS sync with other Google products – Tasks and Documents come to mind. Yahoo! and Windows Live contact sync rolled out in the last BIS update, and if RIM wants to give all their partners equal lovin’, they’ll probably introduce Calendar sync for both of those services in BIS 3.3.

Keep an eye out for the new sync option in your BlackBerry Internet Service e-mail settings on October 2, and feel free to let us know if you spot anything.

UPDATE: It looks like the BIS 3.2 rollout has already begun in Australia, and RIM has published a knowledge base article outlining all of the new features.
