It took a while for Apple to approve VLC Media Player for the iPad. We first talked about the application being submitted for the Cupertino’s seal of approval two weeks ago and now it’s here, allowing iPad users to watch just about any video file format from a comfort of their sofa, couch or wherever they happen to play with Apple’s tablet.
VLC may be a complex and let’s face it, not as easy to use on a desktop/laptop computer, but its iPad counterpart is as straightforward as a media player app should be, coming with support for nearly all codec there is. The application will even work with missing or broken pieces, playing all the video and audio information that’s still intact!
Best of all, we’re talking about a free to download app which you can grab free of charge from an AppStore link below. And for those of you who care to dig inside the app, source code can be download from here.
As for the iPhone version, it’s in development as we speak and should be released soon…
