WeatherBug API added to Verizon Developer Community, tooAfter launching the NavBuilder SDK that allows developers to incorporate maps and other location-based services into their apps, Verizon Wireless added an API from WeatherBug for BlackBerry and Android applications.

WeatherBug is already the exclusive or default weather provider on many Verizon platforms including Mobile web, WAP, SMS, MMS and on the Verizon company website. With the new SDK launched, the two companies are extending their partnership as they try to get some developer love.

Announced during the Verizon Developer Community (VDC) Conference in Las Vegas, the WeatherBug API provides developers with access to a wide range of proprietary WeatherBug data, including information from over 8,000 weather observations stations in North America that provide current conditions, seven-day forecasts, radar, satellite, cameras, alerts and much more rich weather content…

If all this excites — i.e. you want/need to have weather information in your app and you want to reach Verizon Wireless customers — join the Verizon Developer Community and take it from there.
