I’m a big fan of mind mapping and I love MindMeister, the web-based service that allows multiple users to collaborate on mind maps. They already have a mobile app for the iOS-powered devices and now they’ve updated their iPad application in an effort to “close the gap between mobile and browser based MindMeister functionality.” Here’s what MindMeister for iPad version 3.6 brings:

  • Export to PDF, PNG, RTF, MindManager, Freemind
  • Support for notes, links and tasks
  • Support for map themes and icon groups
  • External monitor and keyboard support
  • Customize box styles (new style popover)
  • Add message when sharing map
  • New open/close behavior (special buttons)
  • Return creates new node (fast idea entry)
  • Faster map drawing
  • Smooth zooming option
  • Redesigned editing UI with popovers

In addition, there are stability and synchronization enhancements as well as various bug fixes under the hood…

If you haven’t tried MindMeister before, now may be the right time to jump on board. After all, you’ll be able to use it both on your computer and on your iPhone and/or iPad. AppStore link is below.
