Harbor Master Updated for the iPhone 4 Retina Display

Harbor Master is one of my favorite iPad games, hands down. The object of the game is to direct the incoming ships to different harbors on your screen. On arrival, the ships unload their cargo, and then it’s up to you to safely direct them on their way. Sounds simple, but this gets tricky as more and more ships clutter your screen. It’s up to you to make sure none of the ships crash into each other, because the moment an accident occurs, it’s game over! The game is very simple, very intuitive, and for me, I love playing it on the bigger screen of the iPad. That said, if you have the full version or the iPhone 4, Harbor Master has just been updated for you!

The update from the developers at Imangi brings numerous enhancements, but the most notable is an update to the graphics. Much more detail has been crammed-in to take advantage of the iPhone 4 retina display. Kiril Tchangov, graphics master extraordinaire at Imangi re-jigged ALL of the games artwork to look stunning on the retina display.

Other key updates include:

  • A new level. Cargo City has been adapted from the iPad version, for the iPhone screen.
  • iOS4 multitasking support.
  • Fixed twitter support so you can tweet your scores again.
  • Rotation support, so you can hold your device however you want!
  • A ton of bug fixes.

You have to love it when developers of best-selling titles aren’t content with their success. Even though Harbor Master has won critical acclaim, it’s good to see the folks at Imangi are keeping their heads down, and are working hard to make their apps as polished and perfect as they can.

If you already own the full version of Harbor Master, this is a free update for you. Pop open the App Store and check your updates window (I updated this morning). If you haven’t tried it yet, or would like to give it a spin, the iTunes link is below.

Perhaps you want to try before you buy? Hit up the ‘Lite’ version of Harbor Master below (it doesn’t include the updates mentioned above, but it will give you a great preview of what you’re going to get in the full version!):
