Popular business card reading app for the iPhone, ABBYY Business Card Reader, is now in version 3.0, updated with features that go beyond the classic “capture data from business cards and save it to the address book” functionality.
Here’s the trick – ABBYY Business Card Reader 3.0 will not only perform its basic task, but will also search for information about new contacts across popular social and business networks and Google Maps. So in the process of scanning a business card, the application will query Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, as well as check in Hoover’s business database so that you get more information and a better picture about the person “behind the card.”
In addition, the new version of ABBYY Business Card Reader further simplifies work with the application by highlighting uncertain characters in the captured text, eliminating the need to visually check all the data. Plus there’s a new more intuitive user interface included in this release…
All in all, this is an app that’s definitely worth $9.99, at least in my book. 😉
