Offering mobile data to prepaid users was never a popular move among mobile operators. Sure, there are quite a few companies that provide such a service, but they are still in minority. That said today we bring you the story involving a small UK operator, Vectone Mobile, and their mobile data offering for PAYG (Pay as you Go) customers.
The carrier is giving away 10 MB mobile web access every day until 2011 to both its existing and new PAYG customers. In case you need more than 10 MB, there’s a 10p per MB surcharge, or an option to subscribe for Vectone’s unlimited mobile web bundle for only 5 GBP per month.
Like how it sounds, especially for those just visiting the UK.
Commenting on the news, Vectone’s CEO Baskaran Allirajah said: “Since the launch of Vectone Mobile in the UK, we have constantly focused on providing increased value to the UK market. This is a further example of the outstanding value we offer to the UK mobile market.”
