The Nexus One is all but forgotten, as we know it’s still the handset of choice for many Android fans out there, and rightfully so. It may not be the beast it once was, but it’s still the go-to Android hacking phone these days. We’ve seen countless ROMs on the thing, as well as a handful of desktop OS‘ running on the thing, so we doubt you’d be surprised if we told you that the recently found MyTouch 4G ROM has been ported to the Nexus One, would you?
While still a work in progress, the Nexus One gets to star as the inaugural handset for the port of T-Mobile’s upcoming smartphone. The MyTouch 4G is one power house of a phone for the carrier, and it may be the first truly worthwhile handset in T-Mobile’s MyTouch line up. If you want to see what’s inside the MyTouch 4G before you grab it when it’s available, and you have a Nexus One lying around, (Who doesn’t? Oh…) then we have a ROM for you to check out.
The ROM is in its early stages, so everything is not working properly at the moment. WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular radios are a go, where the camera and WiFi calling are not. When it comes to early ROMs, from experience, I’ve learned to wait it out a bit. When the Nexus One first got the Sense UI ported to it, there were some days that two updates were released to the ROM in the same day. That said, the ROM is said to be very smooth, but with fixes on their way for some things, you may want to hold off until you have at least a decently stable ROM to work with.
