Apple Launches Free iPad Laser Engraving

If you’re considering an iPad purchase for yourself, or perhaps for that special someone, Apple has launched a new engraving service just in time for the holidays that you may want to take advantage of.

Well, let’s be honest, it’s not a NEW service (Apple has long offered engraving on many iPod models), but for the iPad, this is a newbie. The engraving is free, and the laser-etched message will go right smack-dab in the top center of your magical device (on the back, of course).

To enter your message, simply type into the two text entry boxes after you go through the first step of checkout in the Apple Store. It’s all straightforward and easy to do… But like the image above shows you… Be sure you have your message right before you confirm and purchase!

One thing to keep in mind besides a potential increase in shipping time (after all, they DO have to engrave the thing for you… that takes a little extra time!), is the refund policy. Apple has long had a policy on personalized iPods that states they ‘may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless such product is Dead on Arrival’. So keep that in mind. If you get that iPad engraved with ‘I love you sweetie’, and she doesn’t like it… you’re stuck with it home boy.

It’s a nice touch for sure… But I’d suggest engraving only for yourself… either that or be absolutely sure before you pull the trigger. Once it’s done, it’s done… and there’s no turning back!
