AT&T confirmed that its Windows Phone 7 handsets will be ready to roll the second week of November. Arriving first is the HTC Surround and the Samsung Focus, both of which will debut in tandem on November 8th. This Windows phone duo will be available from AT&T company-owned stores and online for $199.99 with a two-year contract. The LG Quantum is next to arrive and the QWERTY-packing handset will debut in the days after the big 11/8 Windows Phone fiesta.
The Focus, Surround, and Quantum are good examples of the range of devices available on the Windows Phone platform. The HCT Surround is a multimedia-centric handset with a slide-out speaker and Dolby surround sound. The Samsung Focus is the high-end offering with a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and 8GB of internal storage. The LG Quantum is a mid-level offering with a 3.5-inch display and sliding QWERTY keyboard. Each phone stays within Microsoft’s hardware reference design but has its own flair.
These three handsets will be accompanied by the HTC HD7 ant the Dell Venue Pro which will land on T-Mobile in November. Anyone have a favorite picked out yet?
