Yell, the British company we usually know for their yellow pages services, is out with a super useful app for Londoners, members of the Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme. Already more than 90,000 people have sign-up for the scheme, allowing them to rent bikes and then leave them all around the city.
The new application is called Yell for Bikes and it helps users find their nearest London Barclays hire bike or the closest, most convenient space to leave it. The worse thing that could happen is that you plan to pick-up a bike at some location only to find an empty docking when you arrive. With Yell’s mobile that won’t happen, or at least it won’t happen as often as it would without using the application.
As you can imagine, Yell’s servers gather data from all the bikes and bike stations to provide a real-time image to the user. Moreover, there’s the neat timer feature that makes it clear if you’re going to exceed the free initial 30 minutes or move to the next charging band.
The best part is the price. Yell for Bikes as available free of charge and is readily waiting for users in Apple’s AppStore and Android Market.
