StumbleUpon updated its Android application with the feature called “StumbleUpon App Discovery.” Still in beta, it is made to suggest mobile apps based on each user’s individual interests and preferences and those of friends and like-minded users.
Similarly to the StumbleUpon website, this feature also allows users to browse or “stumble” through recommended apps on their Android devices. Once you find an app you like, simply click “Install” and the installation process will begin. It’s that easy!
If you already have StumbleUpon running on your smartphone, you should update it to the latest version to take advantage of this new feature. Otherwise — if you don’t have it installed — simply search for “stumbleupon” in the Android Market and take it from there.
Commenting on the launch, StumbleUpon’s CEO Garrett Camp said: “Currently, discovering apps from the over 100,000 apps available in the Android Market is limited to keyword-based search features. With StumbleUpon App Discovery, users can now find applications that are personally recommended to them and in many cases would previously have gone unnoticed.”
