As expected, Cricket Wireless has started selling the successor to the original TXTM8 phone. The new device is called TXTM8 3G (aka TXTM8 II), implying it supports the carrier’s CDMA-based 3G network. Cricket emphasized it’s the first 3G phone to cost less than $100 sans any contracts signed.

As you can presume, the TXTM8 3G comes with a full QWERTY keyboard making it ideal for heavy texters and folks who like to chat with their buddies across IM networks while on the go. In addition, it also boasts a 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth support, music player, email and IM clients (obviously), web browser, GPS (and navigation software), and of course a microSD expansion slot that sings along memory cards of up to 16GB. Moreover, there’s a large 1150mAh battery included, allowing for the device to run for up to 6 hours in talk and up to 330 hours in standby mode.
