Skyfire — the web browser that brought Adobe Flash to many mobile platforms, iPhone included — is heading to the iPad community. Sure you can run the iPhone version of the app on your tablet, but you may also crave for a better, “optimized for iPad” experience. And that’s exactly what the Skyfire folks are working on as we speak, according to their Twitter account.
Bear in mind that Flash may kill web page loading performance, but then again – something’s gotta give. Personally I used to hate Apple for refusing to run Flash in Safari, but after trying out Flash-enabled web browsers on other platforms, I figured the logic behind that decision. Actually, I’m all for having options – yes, loading Flash files on a mobile web browser kills the experience, making everything slower. On the other hand, sometimes I really need to load some Flash website and I would appreciate to have such an option on my iPhone. In other words – I need to see the Flash content, but not all the time and I would keep that option turned off in most cases.
Anyway, while you wait for the iPad version of Skyfire, you can still use the iPhone app, which is linked below…
