I’m not going to get into the ugly details of the whole Mel Gibson / Oksana Grigorieva fiasco. Chances are you remember this one, and can recall those recordings that Oksana made of Mel going on a bit of, oh I don’t know… let’s call it a verbal rampage. Remember it now? Good.
During last night’s edition of Larry King Live, Oksana was a guest, and Larry of course stepped Oksana through her life with Mel, including the fiasco mentioned above. During their conversation, it came up that the recordings we’ve all heard were actually made on her iPhone.
Larry: How are they [the recordings] so technically good?
Oksana: They’re not THAT good. It’s just…
Larry: They’re pretty good.
Oksana: Really?
Larry: Don’t you think? You had a home machine?
Oksana: No, it’s not a machine it’s an iPhone. There’s an application called Voice Memos… He – I use it for…
Larry: This is all from a little iPhone?
Oksana: It’s all from a little iPhone, yes.
Larry: You just sold a lot of iPhones. That’s pretty good quality.
I can’t honestly recall the quality of the recordings myself, but I do recall being able to make out pretty much everything Mel had to say. Clearly the quality impressed Larry as well. If nothing else, I suppose this is sort of a twisted ‘thumbs up’ for the Voice Memos app in iOS. If it’s good enough to deliver ‘technically good’ recordings of someone bordering on insanity, it has to be solid, right?
Update: Looks like Oksana may be getting herself into a spot of trouble herself. Savvy iPhone users will know that the Voice Memos app does not record phone calls… and of course, the iPhone has no removable battery (2 claims she made while on Larry King). Check out an update from the Examiner.
