If you’ve been holding off on grabbing a T-Mobile G2 because you’re waiting for the price to go down, it’s probably not going to get any better than what Target will be offering tomorrow. It looks like the Android handset will be going for just $49.99 starting tomorrow with a new, two-year contract. That’s about $150 less than you’d spend at a T-Mobile retail store. You’ll also have to get a data plan for $30 a month, but who would pick up a smartphone these days without one, anyway?
As you’ll notice in the advertisement above – something that did elicit a minor cringe from me – the G2 has “4G speeds” and packs a physical QWERTY keyboard if that’s what you need. The device also rocks Qualcomm’s MSM7230 chipset with an 800MHz processor, which works perfectly well with Android 2.2. The G2 also has a 5MP camera that takes some solid pictures, and it’s capable of recording 720p, high-definition video.
Want to pick one up at Target as soon as they go for the new sale price? Be sure to check out our hands-on review of the T-Mobile G2 here.
