Let’s say you want to be the next Rana Sobhany or Deadmau5 but you can’t afford the expense equipment to spin those disks (even the digital ones). Well, the folks at Algoriddim have your back as the new DJay iPad app turns your tablet into a monster music device.
As you would expect, the DJay iPad app will give you two virtual turntables to cut on. You’ll be able to access your iTunes library to mix songs up and there are ways to automatically mix up the tracks.
The DJay iPad app is also fully compatible with iOS 4.2, which means you’ll be able to multitask and run the program in the background. At first, I didn’t know why you would want this in the background but then I thought you could be searching for tracks online or on YouTube and then quickly hop back in to this.
Another cool option about this program is that it will support AirPlay for streaming out to other products like the Apple TV. So, you could cut up your amazing mix of Justin Bieber and Ozomatli, click a few buttons and then have it blasting out of your home stereo system.
You’ll also be able to record your mixes live, see visual waveforms of the tunes and it also has the mixers, tempos and EQ controls you’d expect. You can also look forward to automatic tempo and beat matching, as well as pre-cueing with optional headphone adapters.
As you can see from the video below, the app is very visually appealing and I think it will only be a matter of time before we see it in those fancy iPad television commercials.
