Notion Ink Adam pre-order details, Gingerbread announcement practically confirmed

Want first dibs on the upcoming Android-powered Adam tablet by Notion Ink? Well, the latest post on the Notion Ink blog says that those who have commented on the blog will be the only lucky folks to get first crack at the much anticipated tablet. The post also drops a hint that Gingerbread may indeed be announced this coming Monday.

I was lucky enough to have left one comment on the Notion Ink blog, so if I so choose, I will apparently be one of the select few that will be allowed to pre-order this bad boy. My comment was basically a complaint that it’s taken them too long to get this product out, but that still counts as a comment, regardless of how negative it may have been. Those who have not commented on the blog will not be part of the first wave of tablets, but the pre-order will be expanded to general availability after commenters take their picks. Those who comment on the current post may still have a chance, so give it a try.

Now all we have to wait for is an actual pre-order announcement, and what color to pick out.

The blog also dropped a hint about Gingerbread:

6th December is another big day for Android and you will find out how fast Notion Ink can work. (Eden is extremely compatible with 2.3)

So it looks like Gingerbread will likely be officially announced come Monday, but what’s also interesting is the mention of just how fast the company can work. Will the Adam ship with Android 2.3 on board? In all likelihood, no, but that’s not to say that the update will be available much earlier than what we’ve seen from some manufacturers and carriers pushing the latest version of the OS to smartphones. Whether or not this hint about the announcement of Gingerbread was intentional or not, we have the date practically confirmed at this point after seeing several different launch dates being thrown around for some time now.

In our last post about the Adam, we were wondering about the connection to the “mystery feature” and Nikola Tesla. The newest Notion Ink blog post has a nice little section on Tesla, complete with a picture of the famous scientist. Yet another hint(s) was given about this new feature, but this time it’s in the form of riddles. I’d much rather be surprised, really, but for those who are good with these type of verbal puzzles, we’d love to see what you think about the following:

Something to keep you busy:

First Description:

Few came dangerously close,
to change the fundamentals of light,
but few realized the power of the same,
and now it even works at night!

Second Description:

I am not a sensor though I can feel
Though light is my father, I can work in a shield
I am there since Big Bang, I am still the need
My re-birth opened a new era, a new playing field!

Third Description:

I shortened the distance as nothing else could beat me
your test my limits, every time you set a form free
Now I am not alone, but I’m still the alpha to all
and with a century old, I am the best I could ever be.

Think you have a good idea as to what this mystery feature may indeed be? Leave your guesses in the comments.

There’s some more details about some of the apps that will ship with the Adam, so make sure to hit up the link below!
