A new update for id Software’s RAGE HD has hit the App Store over the weekend and it brings some awesome improvements to an already impressive game.
One of the things we felt that were missing from RAGE HD was Game Center support. In our review, we not only wanted achievements and leader boards, but also some multiplayer support. Although there isn’t multiplayer in this update, there’re achievements and leaderboards that keeps track of how many mutants you’ve killed. Unfortunately, this update doesn’t count all of the hundreds of thousands mutants you killed previously, so you’ll need to go on a murderous rampage all over again.
This update also brings support for the iPhone 4’s gyroscope which allows you to play the game as if it’s a small virtual window to which you can move your iPhone around and experience RAGE HD in a completely new way. You’ll now also be able to hook up your iPhone or iPad to a second display, such as a TV or monitor, to which you can play RAGE HD on your second display while using your iOS device as a controller.
RAGE HD was an already impressive package and this update just makes it an even more must have than it already was when it was released last month. Check out the full list of updates below to see what else has been updated in RAGE HD:

- Museum Mode – Explore the levels at your own pace, eerily void of any mutants. Take-in a taste of the spectacular RAGE universe, powered by id Tech megatexturing technology
- 2nd Display Support – Play on a TV or Monitor using your iDevice as a controller. Output 480p over the official Apple Component cable & 720p over the official Apple VGA cable.
- Mirror Mode – mirrored levels flips the world for a new shooting experience.
- Language Localization – now in French, Italian, German & Spanish.
