By now we figured SEGA has a strategy to bring all of its popular Genesis titles to mobiles. Unsurprisingly, they’re first going for the iPhone and iPod Touch users for whom the company has already launched few classic games, including Ecco the Dolphin, Space Harrier II, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Gunstar Heroes, Streets of Rage and a couple of Sonic titles.
SEGA’s new iOS work is the fighting game Virtua Fighter 2, which looks pretty much the same as the old version from the Genesis. We would expect to see a slightly improved graphics or at least some new levels and enemies, but we would be wrong. The game keeps the 2D look and feel, featuring eight fighters and eight stages.
Actually, there are two new things included: touchscreen controls (obviously) and the ability to challenge your friend on a Bluetooth competition. If that’s good enough for you, prepare to pour out 2 bucks to re-live moments of your childhood. AppStore link is below…
