Amid entries for the upcoming Desire 2, Pyramid, Flyer, and Optimus 3G in what looks like German carrier’s inventory, was a spot for the LG Star Tab. Right now the only tablet on LG’s plate is the G-Slate heading to T-Mobile, so this may hint at some alternative branding for Europe. The naming follows what LG had called the Optimus 2X prior to launch, which was their first dual-core smartphone.
If the Star Tab is in fact the G-Slate, it’ll have an 8.9-inch 3D display, run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, twin 5 megapixel cameras on the back for 3D pictures, a 2 megapixel camera on the front for video conferencing, a dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor, 32 GB of storage, HSPA+ connectivity, and HDMI-out. Honeycomb is a sweet ride, if you haven’t seen it yet. The whole home screen layout has been rejiggered to do away with many physical buttons, and improved widget management. Check out our breakdown for the full tour.
Mobile World Congress is coming soon, where it’s safe to expect the LG Star Tab and plenty of other new toys to be announced.
