Cellfire is teaming-up with Location Labs for the Store Alerts feature in the new Cellfire iPhone and Android applications. Thanks to the new feature made possible with this partnership, users will receive real-time alerts about available coupons in nearby grocery stores from Cellfire’s network of 5,000 grocery locations. Best of all, customers can choose the conditions and the store locations where they would like to receive Store Alerts. According to the official press release, this is a first in the grocery couponing industry.

Cellfire allows consumers to access grocery coupons using their mobile phone. Selected grocery coupons are loaded to the grocery savings card and applied automatically at checkout.

In terms of technology used, Cellfire relies on Location Labs’ Sparkle Platform, which is a mobile location, controls and security platform. The mobile application doesn’t record location information and is only used to trigger the Store Alerts capability.

Commenting on the new feature launch, Cellfire’s Paul Stanley said: “With Store Alerts, consumers won’t forget about any new and saved offers. More importantly, this feature increases the potential for brands and grocers to influence the actual consumer purchasing decisions in-store.”
