Poynt for Android and BlackBerry Updated with Twitter and Facebook Sharing

Poynt’s location-based search app for Android and BlackBerry have had a few updates here at Mobile World Congress 2011. For one, the Android version will now have a gas prices widget, so you can see what’s the cheapest within the 9 closest stations. Both the Android and Blackberry versions also got a new sharing feature, so you can send search results to friends via Twitter, Facebook, or e-mail. Facebook sharing doesn’t work on BlackBerry just yet, but I’m sure it’s coming soon.

Aside from that, Poynt still helps you find everything you need nearby: movies, people, businesses, events, and restaurants, all while plugging in cleanly with the native apps, like maps, messaging, phone, and calendar. They support all of the major platforms, including iPhone and Windows Phone, but still no webOS love.

I find Poynt just a little bit better than Google Maps for Mobile to find stuff, since you can buy tickets and reserve tables right from the app, plus they add features like this widget and Twitter sharing more regularly. You can find it in the BlackBerry App World, Android Market, or iTunes App Store below.
