SPB TV 3.0 is touted as a mobile TV app store for broadcasters

SPB Software announced a new version of its mobile TV solution – SPB TV 3.0, which is dubbed as an app store-like publishing platform for TV channels. As a result, broadcasters and content owners have the opportunity to distribute existing catalogs and expand their offering to mobile devices. Users in turn get access to a larger channel catalog as well as to premium content.

As an end-user, you get to choose from a wide range of paid and free broadcast content in the same way as you would in an app store. The broadcaster on their end can offer its content how they want – whether ad-supported, paid-for or free.

The solution works across smartphone platforms, supporting both TV streaming and video on demand (VoD). Moreover, it’s easy to use while offering enhanced user statistics, targeting options and secure subscriptions to broadcasters.

SPB touts the SPB TV 3.0 to be the “easiest, fastest and most cost-effective solution” for broadcasters to seize mobile TV opportunity, guaranteeing a service level that “meets telecommunications industry standards of reliability.” Among the company’s existing clients we find AFP News, France 24 and Euronews…
