We got another concept phone for you guys! But aside from the obvious good looks and striking design, the most important aspect of this concept is the creator. The Butterfly concept was, well, conceptualized by a 15-year old high school student. That’s right, barely pubescent Andrew Kim designed this horizontal-sliding, dual AMOLED screen concept with a tilt feature that turns the lower screen into a touchscreen keyboard. The “slide & tilt” feature is a unique twist to the horizontal slider idea. (click on for tons of pics)
The Butterfly theoretically rocks a removable lithium-ion juice pack, wifi, camera, and microSD expansion. And the UI is beautifully iPhone-ish.
But we just can’t help but feel that the design is slightly reminiscent of the Nintendo DS (which makes perfect sense for a phone designed by a teenager). Still, he’s just a kid, and if he’s already got skills like this, I can’t wait to see what he does after a stint in design school.
