Microsoft is running into more problems with its February update for its Windows Phone handsets. Following the resumption of the update earlier this week, the company is now looking into reports of an unusual error code 800705B4 cropping up during the upgrade process. This error prevents the user from installing the software patch.

The underlying cause is not known with theories ranging from too many app being installed to devices not having enough free space to completer the patching process. Some folks are reporting that removing their email accounts lets the update go ahead while other users are forced to restore their phone to factory settings to get back up and running. Microsoft has fielded reports on both Twitter and support forums.

The original patch was released in February and was pulled shortly after roll out due to reports of bricked handsets. Microsoft later confirmed that a small percentage of handsets, mostly from Samsung, met an unspecified problem installing the patch. Regardless of the reasons for the first or the second error, it is embarrassing that Microsoft has to deal with second problem with the same update.
