RIM BlackBerry Javelin spotted hanging out amongst friends

RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9000 has been getting some serious attention as the first truly sleek BlackBerry handset to be born of Waterloo’s most famous handset manufacturer. And, so it would make sense that RIM cash in on the media-darling that is the BlackBerry Bold 9000 with EDGE and EVDO Rev. A flavors. The former is known as the BlackBerry Javelin and it’s basically a slightly crippled version of the BlackBerry Bold.

The BlackBerry Javelin has been spotted hanging out with its RIM-made friends (it’s the second from the right), and it’s looking mighty good.

BlackBerry Javelin

As I mentioned previously, the BlackBerry Javelin will feature the same 480×360 display, large QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, BES 5.0 support quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM, GPS, BlackBerry OS 4.6, WiFi, and an ArgonV processor, as its speedier 3G-brother. Unfortunately, the BlackBerry Javelin will be limited to 2.5G EDGE data speeds.

So, for anyone that’s still going to be in the market for an EDGE-capable BlackBerry Javelin with all the good looks of the BlackBerry Bold and a more affordable price tag in mid-2009, RIM’s got your back. Don’t worry, you don’t have to tell anyone that you’re still using EDGE in 2009.
